RUTH GERBER BLUMROSEN
March 7, 1927 - January 13, 2004

Al, her husband, and Steven and Alex, their sons,
are continuing this website in her memory,
to carry forward the work that Ruth and Al have done together
since they married while attending the University of Michigan Law School in 1952.

Ruth and Al co-authored the study that spawned EEO1, Inc. and EEO1.com.
"The Reality of Intentional Job Discrimination in Metropolitan America -- 1999,"
released in 2002, which analyzes federal employment statistics in light of Supreme Court decisions across the Nation and in 40 States.
This website continues to provide free access to this work.

One of Ruth's major contributions to the law of equal opportunity consisted of four articles developing the concept of wage discrimination against women. (See her biography.)

Together, Ruth and Al collaborated on a book about
Slavery, the American Revolution, and Freedom in the NorthWest Territory,
Slave Nation: How Slavery United the Colonies and Sparked the American Revolution
(Sourcebooks, February 2005).
We have created a separate website for this book at www.slavenation.us.

CONCLUDING THE NATIONAL REPORT COMPARING STATES IN THE SEVERITY AND PERSISTENCE OF INTENTIONAL JOB DISCRIMINATION, Appendix 4 of the Study, was the subject of a BNA Daily Labor Report article on 9/30/2002.
Al and Ruth Blumrosen, professors at Rutgers University Law School, found that two million minorities and women were affected by intentional job discrimination, mainly by hard core discriminators, while approximately 75% of large establishments did not appear to discriminate, in the statistics. The study was attacked by the EEAC, an employer group.
